Love, connection, and relationship are nurtured by attention, and our world is vying for our attention. Interestingly enough, many today are calling our digital world as "attention economy." Without careful consideration, it is easy to live our lives attentive to things of lesser importance, unaware of the damage we are doing to our hearts and our love. Becoming people who are attentive to God, those around us, and ourselves is paramount to life and love. Jesus' great command to love Him and love our neighbor (Matt. 22) is about choosing to five our attention to Him and others with more and more of our heart, soul, and strength. In our cultural moment, Jesus is inviting us to fix our attention to the things that matter most.
