Happiness is circumstantial. It comes, and it goes. But joy is different. Being happy is an emotion similar to being sad or scared. It can come, and it can go away. But joy comes from a firm foundation. Joy comes from knowing God and celebrating his kingdom come. This type of joy is promised many times in the Bible. It is long-lasting. It's a joy that never changes.
